Professor Duhee Park holds a B.S. (1996) in civil engineering from Hanyang University, an M.S. (1998) in civil engineering (structural engineering) from the University of California at Berkeley, and a M.S. (2000) and a Ph.D. (2004) in civil engineering (geotechnical engineering) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He joined the faculty of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Hanyang University in 2005.
He focuses on the use of advanced computational methods to solve challenging engineering problems, with primary interests in geotechnical earthquake engineering and soil-structure-interaction. His fields of expertise include probabilistic seismic hazard analysis, generation of input ground motions for performance based design, nonlinear site response analysis, liquefaction assessment, seismic slope stability, seismic performance of underground structure and interaction with tall buildings, lifeline performance assessment, blast simulation, design of offshore foundations. He is also interested in soil characterization using laboratory and field testing.
Professor Park has received a number of teaching awards from the university and professional awards from societies including KSCE, KGS, KGES, and EESK.
